What’s my (dead)line?

September 18th, 2007

Because I’m drowning in deadlines at the moment and cannot cough up a proper post just yet, it’s time to play… What Deadlines Are You Working On This Week? I’ll go first:

  • The next installment of a fun feature I do for the Seattle Times called “How’d You Land That Great Job?”
  • My next PayScale.com story, about how to know when it’s time to give your day job the boot
  • A rewrite for an article about pet psychics (I swear)
  • A new NAFE piece on business trends
  • Some tax stuff I’ve put off doing
  • And of course, my temp gig, which happily has turned into a 75-percent telecommuting gig

Now, you… what’s on your freelance plate this week? Show us your stuff!

Oh my God, where do I begin?

    - I just got a major gig as a house blogger and I need to get 6 posts organized.

    - Said house blogger gig has also asked me if I want to edit for them. Must schmooze appropriately.

    - 6,000 words on ceiling adornments due by Friday. Yes, ceiling adornments.

    - 3,000 words on The Second Coming. Probably due now.

    - 2 new small business pieces for a new gig. Must do now so not to appear completely unreliable.

    - 6 new PITA pieces about personal finance.

    - Oh, and, um, my blog.

Maybe I should just shoot myself. (Who am I kidding? This is a thousand times better than the cube.)

    let’s see:

I have to get the artwork out of my head and into adobe illustrator. All the while actually learning how to use the program in the process. Get that file off to get some t-shirt transfers made. Organize my workroom so that I can go on a t-shirt making binge when they get back. All in time for Roller Derby nationals in 10 days.

that’s in my spare time, as I have deadlines in my day job too where I’m putting together the pavement maintenance plan for next year.

yikes. so much to do I really should clone myself or something.

How funny — I followed the link to the fave women bloggers post (mine going up anon) and found this!

My friend, Joan Ranquet, is an animal communicator (aka “pet psychic” who’s got a book coming out soon). I wonder if you’ve interviewed her for your piece…

Oh–and I suppose I should play along, but my mind-bending deadlines were early-week; next ones, up Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday:

    + monthly column for LAcasting.com
    + CD + 32pp libretto (!!!) to the printer
+ bi-weekly design column for design sessions (non-paying, but good publicity)
+ my poor, poor neglected blog (also non-paying, but it’s the mothership, baby)
+ put final touches on speech for my FIRST gig as a wedding officiant!

Oh, I’ll stop there. It looks too daunting in a list.
