<description>"bursty work" sounds like how professors do thier job. I am not sure if this type of concept will work for freelancers. Although not bogged down by the "9 to 5 face-time" game, freelancers are many times at the whim of the "9 to 5 crowd" that hired them, who sit at desks in offices all day between 9 and 5. Sure you can work on something through the night any time of day, but the "9 to 5 crowd" can and will contact you between "9 and 5". "bursty work" goes hand in hand with the acedemic peer reviewed publishing cycle. Essentially, teach a few classes in the day, serve on a commity or two, have office hours and work on a paper to be sent out for peer review (working meaning whenever they feel like)</description>
