What the article is basically saying is: Don't do what rich people would do; after all you wouldn't want to do the types of things that keep them in the upper classes. The real issue is to just make sure they can really do the job, otherwise just tell them you don't think they are cut out for it. Also, unless some heavy prodding is done a friend would only get an "interview", not necessarily the position.
